Economic Valuation of Improving Environmental Degradations in Korea Using Choice Experiment

This study aims to quantitatively identify the economic value of comprehensive improvement environmental degradations caused by climate change. The research method applied that is choice experiment. Fine particulate matter, algae bloom, and heat waves were selected as individual attributes constituting problems. It was found willingness pay could not be induced for any level in algal bloom. concluded if improved medium where number heat-related illnesses estimated deaths decreased 50% compared current level, there would a loss USD 13.33. improving problems 7.69 per household year, fine matter highest attributed consumers. significant it comprehensively evaluates severe problems, reflects their priorities importance, assesses each level. provides important foundational data establishing effective budget input strategies maximize consumer benefits aids preparation policies more detailed goals achieve net-zero carbon emissions Sustainable Development Goals.
